Weekly Greeting - June 20, 2025

Greetings friends,

Three things:

1) On Wednesday this week, Corkey Wolczyk joined a group of our youth to show them the safe way to handle drills, skill saws, hammers and other tools. They practiced on scraps of wood under his watchful guidance. On Sunday Corkey will join our youth pastor, Alison Bocking, and other adults and youth on a great week of adventure to Southwest North Carolina on a home repair mission trip.

I encourage anyone who can come to be in the parking lot to pray and send the mission team off this Sunday at 8:30 am. Coming to church a little early just for them is one way that we can embrace our teens and show them our support.

2) I don’t think I need to remind anyone at Bethlehem that Fish Fry is coming up the third Friday in July just as it has for the past 50 years! This is the most publicly visible ministry we offer to our community and it is an ‘everybody in’ event. Please take time to sign up for a job, buy tickets to sell or give away, and be on hand for this celebration of our life together as a congregation.

3) Two women of note will be at Bethlehem UMC in the coming weeks. The Rev. Dr. Vona Wilson, Assistant to the Bishop, will be our worship preacher on June 29. You will remember that Vona served as interim pastor after Pastor Ryan left and before Pastor Craig came.

And we will welcome our new pastor, Rev. Dr. Mary Beth Bernheisel, on July 13. There will be an informal meet ‘n’ greet following worship that day.

God bless!

Terry

This Sunday in worship Rev. Terry Carty will preach “Moving the Fence” reflecting on 1 Timothy 1:12-17 and John 4:7-10 and 19-24. Rebecca Little will speak to the children and Don Fagan will quickly brief us on some Fish Fry facts. Make summer worship your faith food. We are here every Sunday all year-round.
