Weekly Greeting - May 22, 2026

Happy Birthday to the Church! 

Last week Terry told us that he thought about the life of Jesus in six parts: Birth, teaching and healing, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and Pentecost.  On Sunday we’ll celebrate that final part — Pentecost — in grand fashion. 

We’ll give you everything you need to create your own Pentecost party hat in your Sunday School class.  If you don’t have a Sunday School class, we’ll have all the materials in the narthex for you. 

What a generous and good gift Jesus gave us — holy work to do in the world and the power of the Holy Spirit to help us do it. 

We also remember that at Pentecost Jesus gave us each other — fellow disciples and followers of Jesus to encourage us when we are discouraged, to pray for us when we don’t know how to pray for ourselves, and to surround us with a community of love and forgiveness. 

On this Pentecost I am thankful that I am part of this blessed group of disciples at Bethlehem!
