Weekly Greeting - February 20, 2026
Tell me something good!
If that intro immediately made you think of Rufus and Chaka Khan then this year’s Lenten worship series is for you!
And even if it didn’t, this year’s Lenten worship service is still for you!
I don’t know about you, but I don’t typically associate Lent with “good news.” A season of penitence and preparation feels more somber and serious than good news. Maybe that’s why this worship series grabbed my attention. First, because, yes, Rufus and Chaka Kahn; but second, what would it be like to spend the Lenten season intentionally grounding ourselves in good news. Good news like
· Everyone is invited to the table
· The invitation to love God and our neighbor well
· God has made the impossible, possible
· God asks us — and then empowers us — to care for the vulnerable
· Christ is alive!
My prayer is that we will each intentionally listen for and share this good news during the season of Lent. We will have multiple resources for you to use during this season, so be on the lookout for those. And we will have multiple small group opportunities for you as you engage in the Lenten spiritual disciplines — fasting, prayer, and giving.
I am ready for some good news!
Mary Beth
