Someone once pointed out that the word “volunteer” is found nowhere in the bible – yet, that is exactly what we do often are asked to do for Christ – volunteer! As Jesus moved about preaching and teaching, not once did he ever ask for “volunteers”. Instead, he shared a message of what life is like in the kingdom of God and that the only appropriate response to such love is gratitude and dedicated service. With this thought in mind, take note of avenues of service currently available to Christ and His Church. Don’t expect “someone else” to get the job done.
