Growing as Christians... Reaching Out to Others

Adult Sunday School

All classes meet from 9:30 am -10:30 am. Childcare is provided during the Sunday school hour.

The following classes meet on the second floor of the Christian Life Center:

The Vineyard Class (CLC 203)

This is a great class for the serious Bible student.  They study the Bible in depth and love to learn new things that inspire their faith.  Dennis Covington leads the class.

Mary Martha Class (CLC 204)

This class is a close knit group of loving and caring women.  They like to make new friends and there is always room for one more!  The Mary Martha class studies a wide range of curricula.  Contact persons are Cathy Palmer or Lee Ann Bauer.

Coffee with Ryan (CLC 205)
One Sunday every 6-8 weeks, prospective members and visitors are invited to join Pastor Ryan Bennett for coffee and muffins.  We share faith stories and the expectations of church membership, then allow time to answer questions about Bethlehem or the United Methodist Church.  Contact person is Rebecca Little.

Omni Class (CLC 208)
This class encourages lively discussion each week.  Class members rotate teaching responsibilities.  They enjoy Biblically based curriculum.  Contact people are Stan Tyson or Margo Woodruff.

The following classes meet in the main church building on the lower floor:

The Pathfinders Class (room 104)
This class began in 2011 and continues to grow.  Most class members are baby boomers.  They have recently completed a study by Ellsworth Kalas.  Contact persons are Jim and Jane Melrose.

Fenton Warren Class (room 100)
This was the Young Adult class in the early eighties!  Now most of them are active grandparents.  This class exemplifies the church motto of “growing as Christians and reaching out to others.”
Contact persons are Al Adams or Liz Maden.

Contemporaries Class
Most members of the Contemporaries Class have involved children in our children and youth ministries.  This group is active in church outreach – they host one night of Room in the Inn each month during the fall and winter – and they enjoy a good party.  Class discussions range from The Case for Christ by Lee Stroebel to The Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis.  They are currently studying Galatians, Ephesians and Philippians.   Contact persons are Sharon Brugman or Kenny Hawkins.

This class meets upstairs near the sanctuary:

Cope-Simpkins Class (room 204)
Members of the Cope-Simpkins class have served Bethlehem longer than any other class.  Tim Moss leads the group in a study of the Adult Bible Series.  Contact persons are Tim Moss or Emogene Hyde.

New classes are forming all the time.
Check this space and the “small groups” section to see what new studies are forming!
